Richard W. Lovins, 72 of Ellsworth, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:25pm at his home. Richard’s service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2pm at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Following the service burial will be held at Friends Cemetery, Bentown. Visitation will be held from 11-2pm at the funeral home on Friday. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Richard was born on February 11, 1945 in Bloomington, the son of Charles and Mary (Coale) Lovins. He married Karen J. Weed on March 24, 1963 in Padua, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2012.

Richard is survived by his sons; Richard (Rebecca) Lovins of Bloomington and Jeffery (Kimberly) Lovins of Kentucky. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Nichole Lovins, Candice (William) Heck, Ashleigh Lovins, Kari Lovins, Grace Lovins, Jessica (Ben) Mcllory, Andrea Beitz, Grant Lovins, Luke Lovins, James Lovins, Elisabeth Lovins and Tabitha Lovins and 20 great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

He worked as a Machinist Group Leader for Eureka-Williams for over 30 years before retiring.
